Providing personalized treatment for individuals with PTSD and complex trauma.
Corey specializes in treating PTSD and complex trauma. He enjoys working with people who have been involved in abusive relationships as a child or an adult. He also works with specialized populations such as: veterans, first responders, people who have experienced trauma in the workplace, those who work in a church setting, and workers at Christian non-profit organizations.
Corey's approach is collaborative, and places importance on the therapeutic relationship. He draws from a number of different approaches in therapy including interpersonal neurobiology, attachment theory, and ACT.
Corey earned a masters degree in divinity from Western Seminary in 2004 and worked in several churches for over 10 years. He then went on to pursue his M. A. in counseling and completed his degree in 2019. After completing his degree Corey interned with a Psychologist who specialized in treating PTSD. He also completed continuing education classes focused on treating complex trauma and PTSD.
Individual therapy sessions are tailored to your unique needs and goals. Evidence-based practices from several theoretical perspectives will be used to help you overcome challenges and improve your mental well-being.
Couples therapy sessions provide a safe and supportive environment to help you and your partner work through conflict. These sessions are based on the Gottman method of couples therapy. This approach consists of nine research-based characteristics the couple will learn to apply to their relationship.
Consultation and supervision is offered to other counselors seeking to increase their understanding of working with complex trauma and PTSD.
He also enjoys teaching and training others about mental health. If you are interested in talking more about scheduling a presentation or seminar please reach out.
